The most common side effects include:
- Redness

Side effects are typically mild and can last up to 7 days for nasolabial folds and 14 to 18 days for lips. Swelling is more likely for patients under 35 years of age. Bruising is more likely for patients over 35 years of age.
Who is not a candidate for treatments?
Restylane products are not suitable for people who are:
- Under 22 years of age
- Pregnant or breastfeeding
- On blood thinning medication or have a known history of bleeding disorders
- Previous allergic reactions to certain medications, especially hyaluronic acid filles or lidocaine
